Experience
Fabfi Wireless develops an open source platform for building city-scale broadband networks in harsh environments using low-cost 802.11b/g/n wireless equipment . o Designed, implemented and validated the performance of an OpenWRT-based router firmware allowing consumer-grade wireless routers to form mesh networks at the physical scale of a city. o Provided on-site technical and business development training to students in Afghanistan and Kenya, leading to the creation of two small businesses and three sustainable wireless ISPs. o Managed activities of software developers across multiple continents toward common goals. o Created a web and social media presence with thousands of online references (google: fabfi). o Achieved International press coverage, including front page image in New York Times, Sunday Ed.
InterMed was a Health IT startup focused on home monitoring and data-driven management of patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. o Managed a team of eight engineers developing an integrated hardware and software product from requirements gathering, through design and manufacturing, to field-pilot. o Successfully led the implementation of an ISO-13485 quality system, and the achievement of FDA 510k clearance for company product. o Managed vendor relationships and negotiated contracts. o Analyzed intellectual property claims against company technology.
o Developed SOAP interface and XML data schema to support communications between InterMed server and remote patient monitoring devices. o Created interactive web interface to display patient data. o Tested 3rd party medical devices for communication interface compatibility with company product. o Demonstrated company technology at investor meetings toward successful first-round financing.
